Neil will go through various sharpening techniques to achieve gleaming, super sharp cutting edges and how to tune and set-up your plane to take the finest of shavings. Neil will also show you how to get that perfect edge on your cabinet scraper.Only much more expensive planes give good results straight out of the box. All Stanley and Record tools, especially later models, require fettling to achieve a satisfactory result. Learn how to tune your plane and sharpen your blades and chisels for maximum performance.Those who wish to participate in this course may want to get a better quality, thicker blade for their Stanley or Record planes. Participants should bring along a plane, chisels and scraper. Class limit 8.
